Album of the Month: Get to heaven, Everything Everything

This album was released in 2015 but it feels kinda new to me because it’s taken this long for me to completely get my head around it, that and I was asleep from it’s release date until some time last week. Listening to the songs on this album felt weird unless I actually knew what the lyrics meant, which is why it took me so long to get through, but basically the main theme of the whole album is ‘what the fuck is happening.’ Jonathan Higgs the director of the album and lead singer of the band, spoke out in an interview with the magazine ‘line of best fit’ about the lyrics; “A lot of what was said really needed to be said by someone, even if my main message is ‘I don’t know what’s going on but I think you’re all dicks… does anyone else feel like this?’ […] I just felt like I needed to say something, even if that is on a poppy-indie type record. Perhaps that’s not the best way to do it, but I have that platform, so it’s the one I used.”

Book of the month: death of a salesman

ok well I was initially drawn to this book by it’s pages, and moreover, the letters on said pages, this is always an excellent start to finding a book to read, in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the letters did infact formulate words and sentences which together made a pretty good frickin book actually. Its kind of short but if you’re thick like me, short books excite you because you finish it sooner and then you can stop reading and maybe do something else.

It’s set in the late 40’s and its got the whole American dream kind of thing going on. I think I liked it because if I’m reading non-fiction, it has to be kind of real, no magic or anything (the salesman isn’t magic from what I gathered) its a bit sad because of the death and stuff so if you don’t wanna hear about that, maybe theres one called life of a salesman, which could easily be equally as depressing, anyway its good.
